3 <br /> Council on Aging <br /> Minutes <br /> February 8, 2012 <br /> Director's Report: <br /> It was noted the COA staff is assisting a Mashpee High School Senior with a <br /> graduation project entitled This I Believe. This objective includes the <br /> participation of Mashpee Council on Aging Seniors discussing an important <br /> aspect of their lives. There is a substantial list of Mashpee High School and COA <br /> participants willing to attend. <br /> Financial Report: <br /> The personnel budget dated February 2, 2012 was distributed and briefly <br /> reviewed. It was noted the appropriation of salaries is on target. It is estimated <br /> that 4,500 seniors are served by the Mashpee Council on Aging. <br /> Discussion followed with regards to the COA Newsletter,a cost of approximately <br /> $6,000 per year or$525 per month. In January, 1950 newsletters were mailed to <br /> Mashpee seniors. In the future,the distribution of the flyer via the Town's <br /> website and in email format will be strongly considered to offset the cost of the <br /> mailings. <br /> Outreach Coordinator's Report: <br /> Lynne Waterman, Outreach Coordinator.reviewed her January report on programs <br /> and activities with the COA Board. <br /> Volunteer Coordinator's Report: <br /> It was announced that a volunteer"themed"brunch is planned on Thursday, May <br /> 17,2012 at the Mashpee Senior Center. More information is forthcoming <br /> regarding the luncheon. <br /> *The Director's Report, Financial Report, Outreach Coordinator's Report and <br /> Volunteer Coordinator's Report were approved by the COA Board to form. <br />
