Conservation Commission
tebruqry , 1991
a
ge +,
8:45 PARMOTIS ZAFIROPOULOS for the proposed construction of a 14 foot brick
patio; removal of 49 linear feet of creosote railroad tie wall and replaced with
concrete block at 39 Fiddler Crab Lane. Dave Sanicki and Peter Vanderbil were
present for the hearing.
Mr. Saracki advised there were two outstanding Orders of Conditions, for the dock
and renovation of the house. A rotting railroad tie wall was partially replaced
which was not included in the order of conditions. They are requesting to remove
the remainder of the wall and replace with concrete block also. An open-jointed
brick patio is proposed in the area beneath what used to be a deck area.
A plan was distributed,
Mr. Sherman advised the work was stopped because it was not described in the
original Notice of Intent and is very close to the top of the bank. He felt
it should come before the Commission again. Also, the silt screen was placed
in such a way that it was off the ground; haybales are doing the ;job at the
moment,
Mr. Coffey asked the height of the proposed gall and was told 3-1/2 - 4 feet.
It will be totally backfilled and the wall will be strengthened with Rebar and
wire also. The galls have footings.
Mr. Coffey questioned grade and proposed drainage? Mr. Sanicki stated the slope
goes up gradient and then clown into the basement. It is not a full. basement.
Mrs. Simmons expressed concern with debris on the bank side; the bank is deplorable.
Where has been cutting for a wood pile.
Mr. Sherman stated cutting has been done on the bank in the past and 'it should be
put in the Order of Conditions this is prohibited.
Mr. Sanickl recapped the past history of the projects on this property and
requested an appropriate Order of Conditions.
Mr. Sherman did not believe it to be a major problem if the .bank is cleaned up;
erosion control measures are in place for the entire project; and the new entrance
way is structurally sound. That should allay Commission concerns. He suggested
before an Order of Conditions is issued, an on-site be conducted to consider ex-
tending erosion control.
Mr. Coffey asked if plantings should be done on the bank? He requested a brief
narrative, or a block,on the plan, of the wall construction.
VOTE: Motion made and seconded to close the hearing pending a narrative and
details of the wall, and an on-site. Unanimous Note.
FEMIlM NARMM AM ON-SITE,
00 BRADFORD WHEATLEY, continued from January 24, 1991. It was noted the
property was not staked again. A letter from Mr, Buckley of New Seabury
Engineering was read into the record requesting a continuance.
CONTINUED TO MARCH 7. 1991 - 8:15 p.m.
