Conservation Commission
July 11, 1991
Page 3.
Mr, Sherman had no concerns.
OIE: Motion made and seconded to close the hearing. Unanimous vote.
HEARIW CLOSED,
8:15 WILLIM MISUREIJAfor a Determination of Applicability on a proposal to
maintain control of weed growth by mowing inside of a five foot ring around
the marsh and Great River at 190 Monomoscoy Road.
`rank Homeyer asked if there was any objection to him sitting on this hearing.
He lures on Monom s oy but has no personal feelings, one way or the other.
Mr, and Mrs. Misurella had no objections.,
Mr. Sherman stated this is mowing of yearly growth. He would have no objection
if it does not disturb the leaf cover or touch the marsh. It is land subject to
coastal storm flowage which has no performance standards. Maintenance in perpetuity
can be allowed but the Determination would have to be recorded. .._.
Robert & Pauline Delorey showed pictures of greenery abutting thou and the Misurella
property. Mr. Delorey stated the upland has been determined as an ACEC.
Mr. Homeyer stated the ACEC never extended beyond the culvert.
Mr. Delorey stated he did not want these bushes mowed.
Mrs. Misurella advised they are not going near the marsh. They had someone down
from the state and where the marsh grass is, that is the perimeter; they will work
on this side of the marsh grass (landward). They put up the tags. It is all
inside where the marsh grass is growing. The busies will be protected.
Pauline Delorey asked for an on-site inspection.
Mr. Sherman stated he had been there, one year ago, and suggested he go out again
and flag the boundaries with some tape. Mrs. Misurella agreed and the Chairman
thought that would be wise.
Mr. Coffey asked Mr. Delorey to confirm it is an ACEC with any documentation he
has.
Mr. Sherman stated that did not matter as there are no performance standards for
lana subject to coastal storm flowage in an ACEC. The only performance standards
difference is for tidal flats and salt marsh and they are not operating in either
one.
Mr. Homeyer showed a map of the ACEC ending at the culvert in the causeway before
corning onto the island.
Abutter notification was presented, those that responded and those that didn't.
NOTE: Motion made and seconded to find a Legative .Determination with
maintenance in perpetuity within the areas described or marked
by Agent Sherman. Unanimous Vote.
In the future, the Commission will be notified when remowing with reflagging,
