Unanimous Vote.
IA
All" 10N.
7:45 SUMHMFA CONMI= FOR A Determination of Applicability on a proposal
to build an osprey Nest Platform and a request for permission to do maintenance on
s *d platform at Su nersea Way. .ion Ferriday presenting.
Gertrude Sumons advised she lives in Summersea. but does not feel that will make
difference; the Commission agreed.
Mr. Ferriday advised they have a letter from the Architectural. Review Cottee
giving permission on lid not owned by Sur ersea Village; open land or Reserved
Area. He read the letter into the record.
There are two oak trees, 12 ft. high, with a space between where they are proposing
to construct the platform. They will use steel braces to hold the platform, such
as those used for footings for decks.,
14r. Coffey asked if he was familiar with osprey nesting requirements and was told
i e is.
Mr. Ferriday advised a neighbor raised a concern with the aesthetics; he is trying
to core up with ways to camouflage it to look like a dead tree.
Mr. Sherman did not feel what was above the base would have any bearing on the
Commission's concerns.
Mr, Ferriday advised the only disturbance would be the five ports of contact.
There will be no digging as stakes are driven into the ground. It will probably
be constructed off-site and erected on--site.
Mr. Coffey asked if it does not take as an osprey site, what would be done to
alter or remove it' e was told if they are not nesting, there would be no point
in leaving it there. Mr. Coffey -stated removing it or maintaining it would be a
negative impact.
* Motion made and seconded to find a Negative Determination. Unanimous Note,
oo JOSS J. The walkway provides access
to Lot 520 which Yx. C iglia also owns. There is extensive landscaping on the lot
with no sign of erosion.
Mrs, Simons suggested a small platform to protect the top of the bank; Mr. Palmatier
agreed to suggest this to Mr. Carilia,
M .
