*Conservation Commission <br /> February 8, 1990 <br /> Page 6. <br /> Concerning unique problems in Mashpee regarding wetlands, Mr. Regan stated there <br /> are still many buildable lots and people. on the water who will come in for <br /> swimming pools, ramps and docks, and emergency walls. <br /> How to make the public aware of the reason for conser'vation, he advised the <br /> Citizens for Sen ible Growth put on programs for the public; the public is <br /> interested to see what the Commission's authority is and what plans the <br /> Commission has for rules and regulations. <br /> Mr. Regan stated he would accept other responsibilities and projects;ts; he would <br /> enjoy on-sites. <br /> One of his concerns is old septic systems, not up to par, that on a full moon- <br /> high <br /> oon-- <br /> hi b tide go right into the bay. Another is to see ars ori-line sewage treatment <br /> system developed. <br /> He stated the two highest priorities in the next year would be registering the <br /> old grandfathered docks and working with the public to keep them informed. He <br /> suggested ars open forum and putting the bylaw into ordinary english. <br /> Asked if given a choice between development concerns and environmental concerns <br /> he stated he felt property owners have rights and the environment also has rights <br /> and there Inas been regulations developed to take care of that. <br /> Having extensive dealings in Mashpee, he was asked if stepping down for conflict <br /> of interest would be common, He stated that would be a possibility and he <br /> would have to determine what a conflict of interest i s but did not see this <br /> as a major problem,, <br /> When asked if he would be interested in serving as an associate or consultant <br /> he stated he would not. <br /> Mrs. Simmons stated the Citizens for Sensible Growth came out against the most <br /> recent bylaw and asked if he would have a problem upholding that bylaw? He <br /> stated he would not, that committee is large and not necessarily everyone <br /> was against i t. <br /> Mr,- Regan was thanked for his interest and attendance. <br /> Mr. Kaplan and Mr, Guillette will be contacted for another appointment for <br /> interviews. Selectman Carter is away and a vote will await his return. <br /> ASHPEE RIVER W ODLAf DS'"' OMMITTEE: <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to approve the expenditure, not to exceed <br /> $100.00, to the Woodlands Committee for Lexan Plastic for Bulletin <br /> Boards. <br /> ORDERS of CONDITIONS ISSUED: Donald McGoldrick, Maushop Village, <br /> Suzanne Nash (Patrick Coffey stood down <br /> The Chairman's report which was submitted for the Annual Town Report was <br /> favorably received. <br /> Handouts were c.i rc u l aced from an Enforcement Seminar attended by Mr, Sherman. <br />
