There is an existing pier elevated 3 feet above the marsh. The float <br /> bottoms out at low water. The proposed pier will start in the upland and rise up <br /> 5 f et over the marsh,, extend over the marsh and be supported by 6 x 6 posts in- <br /> stalled by ,hand. The piles which will support the last bend of the pier will be <br /> 10 inch piles and will be driven from a floating barge. Wood will be treated with <br /> CCA with 1 inch spacing on the deck planking. <br /> Mr. Sherman read -the shellfish garden's comments. He recommends approval . <br /> Mr. Palmatier stated the existing float is 10' X 1 ' ; it is proposed to use it to <br /> the end of it' s life and replace with a 10' X 20' float. Piles on the existing <br /> pier are 6 X 6, It is proposed they be cut off and left. <br /> Mr. Metisto advised they are pipe piles used in the season and come out with the <br /> float. <br /> Mr, Burns asked who owns the reserve area and was told it is New Sea bu ry and a <br /> letter will be provided for the files. <br />
