DPT, to update drainage; resurface the roadway, <br /> excavation of concrete by cold planer, update sections of guardrail; and other <br /> miscellaneous items incidental to the project, at Route 28 from the Mashpee/Falmouth <br /> town lime to Mashpee/Barnstable Town Line (3.7 miles) . Tori Maguire, District <br /> Rnviromental Engineer presenting with Sandra Nicholas, Bill gl.ois, Mike Broderick <br /> and Jim Mayes. It is a resurfacing project with drainage upgrade. In a section be- <br /> tween Falmouth and the rotary, retention meas will be installed in upland areas. <br /> Northeast of the rotary they propose to pint in a drainage system in two meas of <br /> concern to the commission near the Mashpee River and the nursing home. <br /> It is classified as a 1=' 'ted ted project under 310 CMR 10.33 (f). In these two <br /> instances, there are paved waterways that allow road runoff directly into the Mashpee <br /> River, slopes will be stabilized with rock and shrubs will be planted. This area <br /> ray not be wet a lot of the t i.me. They will plant Rosa Rugosa, Autumn olive and <br /> Hardy Rye as a ground cover. As many trees as is possible will be left. There will <br /> be an outlet across Quinaquisset Ave. coming out a slope on the other side with <br /> rock pad so that if the retention area in the "V" of the comer floods out in a <br /> very heavy storm, it will dissipate prior to reaching the resource area. There is <br /> no work in the resource area, but very near. Appendix A was filed with Natural <br /> Heritage who was impressed with the plan. Their response was that the proposal <br /> will be beneficial to the area. <br /> Station 46 is across front the Pilgrim Nursing home. Two swales on either side of <br /> the road that were unproductive bog areas at one time is where they are proposing <br /> rock pad with the catch basins to act as an energy di <br />
