W. J. Merrow ret with the Commission regarding the article which will appear at the Special. Town Meeting to transfer the care and custody of the four lots given to the town on Santuit Pond to the Conservation Commission. Mr. Bache asked the Conamission if the property were open to the use of the public, Dorothy re- plied that if it is taken over by the Conservation Co.nimission, it would have to be open to the public, but the Commission would not advertise it as such. She explained that the Commission would not make any improvements --, only only minor brush clearing. Mr. Bache explained that the residents in the area, do not:want to see any type of activity making reference to the 1'w1a.shpee/ a eby Fond launching ramp. He asked if they could stop people from tenting in the area. Bache asked if the Commission could have the article continued until they could make a. f irm proposal with restrictions so that it could be kept there for the use of the people in the general area of the community? Dorothy replied that there is no way that they can sell them tho land as it was a gift to the town. She also said that she was sure the town would be adversed to selling it. She explained that the Conservation Commission its trying t get it into their care and custody so that nothing will be done with it. Mr. Merrow. asked. about -the maintenance of it as trash is accumulating, Dorothy repleted that if the people who are leaving the trash can be identified, they can be charged ander the to-Vim by-laws. la.ws.
