He said that they would be giving the <br /> town a piece of property which they could use in return for a piece of <br /> property that they couldn't use as the area is heavily wooded. <br /> 4 <br /> Wayne asked if the access problem had been solved': Mr. Devane showed, <br /> where Creat Hay road comes up and around and said that there was another <br /> road coming down into it. He said that there is an easy access to it. <br /> Selectman Hanson wondered if there was any upland property dose tQ town <br /> owned property in a good location which might be used for housing for the <br /> elderly. <br /> aii1i e, commented that it abuts the piece of land that was just purchased <br /> from Makepiece. <br /> Selectman Hanson wondered whether the area was considered for a water shed. <br /> Selectman Hanson also wondered if there was another piece of land that <br /> abuts town property which would increase the forest size' thinking in terms <br /> f the future for Mashpee. Ir. Devane said that there is a piece of land <br /> near the forest appimtelr the same size and type. He said the, problem <br /> is with the title. He said that they did not want to offer something that <br /> they couldn't dive in a clear title, <br /> Selectman Hanson expressed concerns of fertilizing in the area versus a <br /> possible water shod area. Pauline said that there was more fertilizer on <br /> the whole bog than on the golf course. <br /> Wayne cautioned Mr. Devane that they be careful on the insecticide and <br /> herbicides being used suggesting that they use close scrutiny on the use <br /> of Dursban commenting that Diasinon was a better substitute, <br /> Mr. Devane commented that they have been trying very hard to appease every- <br /> body.
