mashpee Conservation Commission <br /> Minutes of March 28 , 1984 Page 2 <br /> CONTINUANCE of DELORY HEARING <br /> Jean Thomas explained that since the last continuance, she and <br /> Wayne Tavares along with the proponent, Pauline DeLory., viewed <br /> the site on Bay Road,, She said that the map did not define the <br /> area properly and because of that, it distorts what she is look- <br /> ing to accomplish. <br /> Bob DeLory said that they are willing to propose to take a little <br /> over 309 of the work out. <br /> Pauline DeLory pointed out the areas which were rorsh areas. <br /> Bob DeLory explained that he would have had the plan changed, <br /> but could not get anybody from Lakeville to Look at the area, <br /> jean Thomas said that the Conservation Commission has to be move <br /> reproach and needs to treat the member of the commission more <br /> severely than anybody from the outside. She suggested that they <br /> come in with a better plan. <br /> Chairperson Studley asked the proponents if they would be agreeable <br /> to the Commission acting on just the dock and extending it to the <br /> top of the bank and not building the wall at this time. She said <br /> that they are not protecting a building as such. She asked if there <br /> was any heavy scrafing of the bank <br /> Jean Thomas said that it was being undermined. <br /> Chairperson Studley asked if there was vegetation. Jean Thomas- r � <br /> plied that there was vegetation on top of the bank, but it was under- <br /> mined. <br /> Bob DeLory said that 5 feet have gone in six years time. He pointed <br /> out an area where there was a house in the marsh at one time. <br /> Jean Thomas said that if the bank has any weight on the edge of it, <br /> it would. collapse. <br /> Chairperson Studley said that she had not viewed the site and asked <br /> if the water comes up and around the bank? Bob DeLory answered "yes" . <br /> Chairperson Studley asked if there were any other structures (pointing <br /> to an area on the plan) . Bob DeLory replied "no" . <br /> Bob DeLory explained that the surveyor saw one little tuff of grass <br /> and marked the plan as marsh in one particular area where there are <br /> tuffs but with stone and gravel underneath. <br /> Pauline DeLory ported out an area where a bulldozer cut a road comment <br /> s i g that was why it was washed out. Bob DeLory said that it has been <br /> there for sixty gears from what he understands. Jean Thomas said that <br /> it has encouraged deterioation of the marsh land4. <br /> Bob DeLory said that he cut the retaining down to help the impact of <br /> the whole thing. <br />
