Permission <br /> is requested to rehab a series of cranberry boys south of Ouinaquisset Ave. with <br /> three exceptions on the bogs north of Ouinaquisset. They expect to use the min- <br /> imum level of machinery to effect the rehab, when possible hand tools will be <br /> used . on bogs substantially overgrown, it wi 1 l be necessary to strip back the <br /> top layer of peat, remove woody vegetation and relay peat layer and plant. The <br /> 0 <br /> vegetation removed � i 1 l de chipped with large stumps removed from the site. <br /> It is proposed to create two holding ponds at the southerly extreme of each <br /> chain of bogs in order to effect a control should the bogs have an appl i cat on <br /> of herbicides or fertilizer and an unexpected rainstorm occurs . That would hope <br /> to trap some of the residues in these ponds prior to having thea flush out 'into <br /> shrub swamp and down into Popponesset Bay . Abutters receipts will be presented <br /> to the Commission on Monday. <br /> Mr. Hostetter stated they are aware there will be flumes at each section to hold <br /> back water. During the on-site, additional locations were sited for berms . <br /> A marked-up print was presented. -The retaining walls requested were pointed out-, <br /> One on the extreme northern end where golf carts wi 11 be crossing the i Gees , 18th <br /> hole on the westerly side getting to the 18th green , an earthern bean around the <br /> back side of the 18th green to contain run-off, on the south side retaining walls <br /> on either side of the berm at the 1 1 th tee and an 8 inch corrugated pipe will be <br /> installed under the existing way south of the 13th tee. <br /> Ms. Berman referred to an existing pipe under the cart path and suggested it <br /> would be advisable to modify the Notice of Intent to provide maintenance for'r it .. <br />
