i Conservation Commission Page 5. October 29 , 1987 Mr . Clark advised he asked Mr . Stillman 'Who was cutting the grass , and was told he has been doing this for ten years. Ms Hanscom stated the way the dock is proposed it would be necessary o continue cutting the vegetation to get to the dock. She suggested extending -it back to- the- house , Ir. Rosenberg stated he has a problem with the plan which 'says the erre of the wetland is- within the area of the dock and has ,just heard that the wetland extends up to the house. r. .Cark stated Framities is typically a plant that is very excited about disturbed soils. Popponesset Creek was dredged trem'endously and they dumped all the spoils onto the upland. Mrs. Jacobson stated irregardless of what the vegetation is, what is under foot is wetlands. Mr. Rosenberg stated all of this was marsh before they built and there wasn't anything that wasn' t under water a good part of the time,, Ms Hanscom stated there are other types of vegetatioh there also. Ms Behrman stated the problem with using a vegetat',on -to define an area as upland is that Fr g iti s is -a takeover artist. Once. there, you' will not get other species. You can say this is the edge of the -wetland vesetation, but not 'say the wet-land stops -there. Mr.. Clark advised it had been their assumption the area had been dis- turbed and the spoil poss'iblqF had been put on i t. Ms 3ehn asked what the elevation charge was and Mr. Clark stated there is a Swale that comes through there. Ms Behroan stated the Commission would prefer an elevated . +alk ay cont i-nued 5 feet onto the deck of the house. Mrs. Jacobson stated he .should not be butting vegetation and if no wore cutting were conditioned, he would not be able to get to the dock. Ms Hanscom pointed out this would keep the Commission from giving him an Enforcement Order.
