Conservation Commission
January 26, 1989
Pa, e 4.
Lisa pointed out the plan is completely different with two other
additions.
Mrs. Jacobson moved for a positive determination.
VOTE= Motion made and seconded to issue a Positive Determination to
Norman Harway.
Mr, Hayes stated there will be two trees removed, they will b
labelled. The septic tank was relocated due to a problem with the
piping in the cellar. They would have to repl mb the whole cellar in
order to put that septic tank out here.
Mks Behrman asked if they were pleading hardship on that and Mr. Hayes
stated that was correct. Mks Behrman stated 60 feet to the leaching
would still require a variance from the Board of Health before the
Commission would hear it. She asked if it had been discussed with the
Board of Health and Mr. Hayes stated it hadn' t.
Lisa stated they would have to give the Commission a good reason why
they can' t put the leaching pits further away.
Mr. Hayes advised the proposed addition will be above grade. They will
go down 4 feet, put a ' x 2' concrete setting and on top of that put
sonotes. Ms Behrman stated as this has not been discussed with
the Board of Health it is a waste of the Commission' s time to discuss
this.
Mfrs. Marstrs asked that the proposed storage and work space addition
stated to have received a negative determination on 2/6/87 be included
in the notice of Intent.
POSITIVE T MSlNATI .
8: 45 Cartal. The consulting engineer for the planning board,,
n his own initiative0 had it built this way.
Mr. Palmatier stated he poked at the wall tonight and with no footing
there is erosion coming under but he did not see any sedimentation.
There is a gap between the wall and stone underneath and they propose
to drive down I x 8 pressure treated stakes all the way around. They
will grout to prevent any washing out;
Ms Behrman questioned the grout and asked if they were going to dig
underneath or slap it in on the surface' She stated that would not
mold. She asked why someone did not come to the Board when this was
done in the first place. It is a potential enforcement issue,
Mrs. Simmons stated this does not sera a permanent way to address the
problem.
Mr. Burns suggested putting in steel high beams and Mr. Palmati r
