Thomason1 , abutters stated they are raising the level of the land one foot higher than theirs . In the 1957 hurricane , every- one ' s land was emptied into their backyard . She though the law f the land was that no erre can make their property higher than an abutter ' s property . The land has not sunk down , the driveway is still the same height as it was in 19501 s . Mrs .. Thomasoni showed pictures stating the land has gone back -8 inches over the winter . The water , when it comes in , goes directly back at the Zammer house and in ender to put in a new foundation , the sand is going to have to be moved . They are worried about erosion . Ms ehrm n stated with the existing sod lawn replaced with beach grass , this will improve protection . Nor . Thomason i s stated the ocean came up this winter and took off sic feet . Ms hrman stated Mr . Zammer is extending the area of beach grass which is better protection to hold the dune than the lawn i . Mrs , Thomason i s stated they were asked by a neighbor to remove beach grass from one side of their yard because itis a fire hazard . Mrs . Jacobson stated she would like to see what the contour is as it affects Mr . & Mrs ,. Thomason i s . Ms Beh rman explained they are broadening the barrier dune , bringing the crest back and going back down to the 8 foot contour. The drainage pattern is not being changed , Mr , Zammer advised the Board of Health stated it was an improve- ment not to have street runoff onto the asphalt . Ms Behrman stated a siltation screen will be requested- to be staked to ensure the backhoe does not cross over . Mr . Zammer agreed . Mrs , Simmons suggested haybales be on the deck . Mrs . Jacobson questioned the slab foundation and was told it is a crawl space ; ars engineered breakaway with two doors in the front and back . The slab is the walls . Doug Boyd has approved the existing footprint , Mr . Burns suggested he provide whatever was submitted to Doug Boyd for the files .
