i
Conservation commission
June 1 , 1989
Page 2 .
He stopped work not because he was doing anything questionable but only
out of respect for any citizen who has a problem with his work . The
net opportunity , he went back and finished . He worked on Sunday with
the mower for one hour fifteen minutes and on Thursday he finished in
one and one-half hours . There was no sneaky intention of doing work
when people were off on their jobs .
He further stated no other group he has ever worked with has planned
so carefully , communicated and planned so sensitively in implementing
program ,
Mrs . Ferrgmmo summarized : the program is going on , they have made
the trails and maintenance is needed . People are invited to join the
Adopt a Trail Program.
Mr . Jacobson is aware his neighbors have been sitting on the Board
since 1985 and this is the first complaint she is aware of . They
are looking for approval from the commission of what they are doing
and maintenance of the trail system.
1r . Burns advised he did an on-site with Carol Jacobson , her husband
and the complainant . The Commission ' s jurisdiction is Igo feet from
the top of the bank and they are within the 100 foot area in places;
between 60 and 40 feet of the top of the bank has been cut with the
Gravely .
Mrs . Simmons suggested the Commission go over the original RDI sub-
mitted .
ub-
mitted .
Mrs . Ferragammo' stated she does not feel that trail is any loser than
the long trail they put in in the first operation .
Mr . Burns asked if the Town of Iahee owns the land on the left hand
side of the parking lot all the way down -toward Pirate ' s cove? .
Mrs . Ferragamo stated Tori Fudala and Bob Sherman flagged it with her.
Mr . Burns asked Earle Marsters if the property has been released to
the town?
Mr . Marsters stated one small piece , 6-7 acres , has not been but the
250 acres is town owned . The piece not released is on the west side
and everything on the east side is town owned .
Mr . Coffey stated he felt the trails should be there and that the
Committee has protected the environment . It does make a new habitat
when a trail is cut through , it ' s a question of hoer it ' s cut through .
He suggested it may be a procedural matter .
Mrs , Simmons agreed to maintain or start a new trail a Gravely , o
the like , l d be necessary . She asked Mr . Jacobson if he were
aware that the Woodland Committee could use a Gravely and he Mated
he wasn ' t . He farther stated he was only interested in the woodland ' s
protection and was not degrading anybody . They do not need a Gravel
at a l l i There is no advantage , unless ,you grant to drive a motorcycle
or a three wheeler down there or go skiing . You don ' t need anything
four feet wide .
