ConComm
September 7, 1989
Page 4.
Mr. Sherman was unable to locate the pictures. He advised there was a heavy
rain on a Monday in July. At 2:30 in the afternoon he took pictures behind
Lot 80. There was over 3 inches of vain within a 24 hour period; he called
the Base weather bureau. There was water in the intermittent stream,
M . Falacci asked if it was breaching the banking and Mr. Sherman stated it
was not.
Ms Behrman asked the setback to the fill line and why the h ybale line is continued.
Mr. Falcci stated that was because it is the net lot. She asked if they are
proposing to disturb the net lot, that close to the intermittent strear 'and
suggested both plans be looked at,
Mrs. Simmons asked the distance from the house to the work limit and was told i
is 18 feet.
Ms Behrman stated they are depositing fill within 16 feet of the intermittent
stream and asked how many cubic feet of fill are to be put in the area?
Mr. Thorng stated it would not be that much.
.
Ms Behrman stated the whole area is going to be dev getated, stripped right down
to that stream. She asked how close the house is to the stream and was told it
will be 40 feet. She stated they were taking this down to 44 feet which will
pull the stream over.
Mr. Thorng stated the basement is going to be slab on grade.
Ms B' rman expressed concern with the water that she saw there.
Mr. Fa l acc i stated they have no record of any water near there.
Mr. Burns asked if they planned to pull out the vegetation and was told they
would for grading purposes. He stated that .vegetation, if this does overflow,
is going to protect the house. Mr. Thorng stated the grade will protect the
house.
Ms Behrman stated she would hate to see this kind of change until the drainage
problem is resolved.
Mr. Thorng reminded the Board that they are dealing with lots 80 and 81 and from
what he can gather, it is away from where the real flooding problem i s. They
will be increasing the pervious on the lot and will be contributing but did not
feel it would be a problem. Mrs. Simmons stated she would like to know gust how
much- they will be contributing.
Mr. Coffey stated it is an excavated ditch to all appearances but is an ancient
waterway. He asked the performance standards on this particular stream.
Edward Beusser, 208 Noisy dole Road showed pictures of the drainage on Noisy
Hole Road taken on September 1 . The drains are completely filled over with
sand now from the construction work done on the road or the new properties.
The water, every time it rains now, runs over onto the land abutting lot 80.
He feels the only reason the grass backings along the sides of the road was
because they put a sign up, "Bradgate, please fisc our roads" . After three
months they fixed i t; they had been living there 1-1/2 years. He and h i s
neighbor, Dave Newton, feel that the drainage i s a problem and any additional
construction will only cause more problems with the drainage.
