Conservation commission
November 16, 1989
Page 4.
Ms Beh rnn stated if concern is for a soil problem, a filter sc rren would be a stable
wary to go, She asked if existing concrete can be removed.
Mr. Burns thought it could be done with a sledge hammer but felt they should not take
out the riddle until the trench is dug.
Ir. Somerville suggested he and Mr. Sherman watch this project closely as a sloppy
job will do a lot of damage.
Ms Dehrman stated the Commission should be notified one week prior to the beginning
f work.
DOCK: The old piles will be pulled out. It will be necessary to extend out t
-3 in order not to stir up sediment. Piles will be driven to 1 ' or refusal .
Mr. Somerville stated he had no problem with this, the outer edge of the platform
is fairly close to the edge of the channel . He does not consider under where the
platform will be to be a shellfish habitat. There is a very narrow band of quahogs
along the shoreline but the structure bridges over it.
Ms Dehrna.n 'questioned abutter receipts with only two out of ten and suggested this
e held for Board of Appeals action and that abutters across the water be notified.
It was suggested this be withdrawn without prejudice and reopened after Board of
Appeals action.
Mr. Hall advised no Board of Appeals hearing is scheduled and agreed to request a
withdrawal in writing.
VOTE; Motion made and seconded to waive fees for Walter Hay Jr. for this specific
hearing, with the exception of the $20.00 advertising fee.
9: 15 PAIL MA UIRE, 3 Tracy Lane. Pyr. Sherman advised he reviewed the entire package
and has no problem with a negative determination on the deck. The modification re-
quested has been received. The deck is subject to the act but has no effect,
VOTE: Notion made and seconded that the project proceed as advised by the conservation
Agent finding that the deck portion of the request receives a negative finding
and a l l ofthe orther portions of activity described be found to have impact
with a positive finding.
Mr. Sherman agreed to stake location 1 ft, from the wetland vegetation bordering
the stream.
CORRESPONDENCE:
WETLANDS ENFORCEMENT WORKSHOP:P: To be held on November 28, Tuesday, in Norwell ,
RESIGNATION: A letter of resignation from Elliot Rosenberg was read with regret.
It is hoped he will return when the possibility of conflict of interest does not
exist.
TOWN COUNSEL.
