(1 ) Hunting is permitted in accordance with the hunting regulations promulgated by the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Hunting is permitted in the Mashpee River Woodlands in Accordance with the rules and regulations of the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife of the Commonwealth o Massachusetts from sunrise to 10:00 a.m. , Monday through Saturday during hunting season. Hunting is prohibited on Sunday. COMMENTS: ANTHONY FIORENTINI : Is this going into effect or is it already in effect because 1 - heard shooting all afternoon? BEHR{ AN: My understanding i s, right now, we have no regulations pro or con hunting, JOANNE FERRAGA MO: We need a vote. once approved, we will have it posted. It 'takes place mostly at Amos Landing. HO EVER: Most of the hunting is in the morning or evening. He questioned the 10:00 a.m. cutoff. EE A AMMO: We went back and forth on this as a committee, Since this property :. was purchased by the town, people have been walking the trails and we are trying to balance the use out there with a compromise. SHER IAN:, I did a little research in other towns and what is done with their Conservation land in terms of hunting, we are being very generous because some other towns restrict certain areas all day long. PHYLLIS PAS AUS AS, speaking for herself: This is a reasonable good compromise on a touchy situation. I would like to point out that a good part of the area is surrounded by deres1 y populated areas. I feel that this is as near as one could get to a satisfactory solution with the nearness to population. EH 1AN: There are State regulations governing the hunting activities within certain areas (DESROSIER: 500 feet of residences) . We hope that with increasingly dense population, that everyone using the wetland will be considerate of all inter- ests, nt rr- ets, includirig those people whose houses can't get up and walk out of the way.
