He advised the Commission
was taken aback previously by the iron pilings that held a floating dock in
place* He advised his client, Mort West, that in the opinion of the Commission,
a float that was affixed was a dock and the Commission would prefer to see
float, The float Nor. West had did not meet the definitions and would therefore
require a Chapter 91 license. Hayes stated he was at this hone this evening and could attest that the
pipes have been removed, The float, being seasonal , is not on the property.
He had prepared a shellfish report. The float will remain seasonal and the
proposed aluminum connect ion sta-irway to the float will allow for the sunlight
to reach the bottom of the bay and allow passage beneath.
Ms Beh rma n noted there is only one set of plans in the file. Mr. Hayes agreed
to provide an additional sets
Mr. Sherman advised he talked with Paul Somerville this morning and they have
been advised by CANS the bottom-anchored float has never been conditioned and
is applicable under the Wetlands Act.
Mr. Hayes stated he was not suggesting that it has been permitted and that is
what he is here for tonight.
Mr, Sherman asked if it was for the float and the ramp p and Mr. Hayes stated it was.
Mr, Burns stated the not i ce states it has been approved by the Harbormaster and
has a Board of Appeals special permit.
Mrs. Simmons asked where the ramp will be stored.
Mr, Hayes stated he would like to say it will be stored in Mr. Nest's garage, but
is not sure of this
Mr. Burns questioned this being possible with a ramp 32 feet long.
Mrs. Simmons stated the Commission will condition the storage,
Nis Beh rr an a ked if the float i s 20 feet long or in two pieces?
Mr. Hayes did not know if it was 2 - 10 foot section connected with an aluminum
pipe or one contiguous float. It isn't there so he was unsure.
Mrs. Simmons asked how the ramp is going to be put into position each spring_.
Ir. Hayes advised two ren can carry them and place them in position. It will be
Put in 'manually, not by machine.
Nis Behrm n quesitoned the depth of grater around the float and stated that should
be on the plan, It's not on the plan as part of the surveyor' s stamped attestation
of depth and there is no attestation on the shellfish report.
Mr. Hayes stated they can go out and take measurements at that particular distance
and provide this to the Commission. Corrections to be rade to the plan with re-
vised pians provided to the Commission. When he did the shellfish report, the
water 25 feet beyond the float was 5 feet deep.
