Scolavino. <br /> Mr. Somerville stated the float i s for a small outboard. <br /> Mrs . Simmons asked if it could be tied up to the bulkhead. <br /> Ir. Somerville questioned the reed for the float; either way he is going to <br /> e covering up shellfish area. This is a reconstruction of a structure, s <br /> there is no objection. Mrs. Simmons added, not as long as in the sane footprint. <br /> Mr. Somerville asked how high the wall is off the bottom, 8 inch piles are <br /> proposed and 2 X 81 s w i th ars a fu I l of of f i I I beh i nd, he suggested they m i ght <br /> upgrade to a larger pile. Ir. Costa did not feel this was necessary. <br /> Mr. Somerville stated, on this type walls, he has always used a larger pile and <br /> 3 X 8 tongue-in-groove, not 2 X 8's, and he always used deadmen. <br /> Mr. Costa stated there is no reed for a larger pile. He pointed to a post which <br /> acts as ar deadman. He advised ,you can crawl in and get up underneath this bulk- <br /> head. <br /> ul - <br /> head. <br /> Mr. Somerville stated when he looked i n, it was filled to the top and h i s <br /> personal opinion- is that larger piles should be used. <br /> Mr. Costa stated they have no intention of filling it. <br /> Mrs. Simmons read from the NOI , "no dredging, no filling" . <br /> Mr. Burns asked if the existing railway is to be used. <br /> Mr. Costa stated it is used every year to pull Mr. Scolavino's boat out. <br /> Mrs. Simmons asked Mr. Costa to furnish the Commission with the horsepower of <br /> the larger vessels that are going to be moored there. Mr. Costa to ask this <br /> of Mr. Sc la ino. <br /> Ir. Somerville advised he generally has three large boats there* <br /> Mr. Sherman stated if he rents spaces, that falls under the Board of Appeals <br /> Special Permit. <br /> Mr. Caffey suggested a notion that. lans be approved as shown on the condition <br /> no additional fill behind the bulkhead is proposed and with the eliminaiton of <br /> the float. <br /> Mr. Costa stated it is a modest float and he needs it for the small beat, on <br /> a seasonal basis. He asked the board to allow it. <br /> Mr. Sherman voiced a concern with the lawn and 4 use of fertilizers. <br /> Mrs. Simons stated this can be restricted. Mr. Costa stated Mr. Seolavino is <br /> more into boats than lawns. He had no problem with a restriction of one applic- <br /> ation of fertilizer per year. <br /> Abutter receipts were presented. <br /> To BE CLOSED AT THE NEXT HEARING AND ORDER OF CONDITIONS ISSUED WITHIN 21 DAYS <br /> FROM THAT DATE. Ir. Costa stated he understood and agreed totally. <br />
