The revised starting.
date from the state now makes this unnecessary.
VOTE: Moved and seconded to accept the minutes of October 24, 1984 as written.
Unanimous vote.
It was noted the word joists should be changed to joints in the last paragraph
of the second page of the minutes.
Committee Reports
Chester Brown stated he has spoken to Mr. Twi to and the Clerk of the Works
several times and the gas company will not start the job until paid. Jack
Cartier stated he knows Mr. Twi to and would contact him.,
Ellis stated Aaron Cohen informed him this had been paid. He will check with
Jack Cartier and call Mr. Brown tomorrow.
Chester Sheets was absent and Ellis Laycock reported on the Electrical . Re
yard lighting, the fixtures shown do not prov.i de adequate lighting. some
fixtures scheduled for areas inside the building in utility rooms and the
paint room are more expensive than necessary and can be down graded in order
to provide better lighting i n the yard. He is in the process of getting prices
Concrete Testing - Anthony Eiorenti ni stated he has copies of a bill from
American Testing. Copies will be made and an invoice prepared for next- week.
.He questioned a billing for the return of the test man due to the contractor
not pouring the first time he was called. The Clerk of the Works stated the
contractor should be liable for the test man coming on the site.
El 1 i s stated all bills incurred must be paid by the town, The bills that are
contested and the reasons, should be brought up in the minutes and copies sub-
mitted to the architect so they can be taken care of in a requisition. The con-
tractor will have to pay at the end of the job if the test man was called and
they did not pour. In some instances where they had to do two tests, it may
be a debatable issue to be taken up with the contractor at a later date.
The Clerk of the Works report was reviewed,by the Committee.
Joe DiMagg i o asked if the garage floor was a finished product, as there are
two large puddles, Ellis advised the drains have tape over them and have not
been activated.
Mr. Re read from the contract that work should be completed in 190 days and
asked what would be a legal cause for extension'.
