Several <br /> beneficial uses for 90-95% clean sediment include; new islands,marshes, <br /> beach nourishment,urban landfill, sanity landfill cover, and the <br /> capping of contaminated material in the ocean when doing ocean disposal. <br /> It is the consensus of the Commission to further discuss sediment disposal <br /> methods with Robert Sherman, Conservation Agent. In addition, <br /> Mr. Hanks, and Mr. York will discuss this natter with the Department <br /> of Environmental Protection, and Army Corps. of Engineers. <br /> As recommended, the Town of Barnstable will be contacted Frith regards <br /> to this concern. Mr.Hanks indicated that he will discuss issues relative to <br /> ars Environmental Impact Report IR with Truman Denson of Coastal <br /> Zone Management. (CZM) <br /> Discussion followed with reference to the use of the former tenberg <br /> 5 <br /> parcel of lana which is presentlyTown owned, as a site for temporary <br /> p <br /> disposal.. <br /> The use of a straight channel v. a funnel shaped channel was also <br /> }L considered to improve the navigation and flushing of the Mashpee River., <br /> Mr. Ellis recommended the Commission consider Bred *ng the channel <br /> through the "hump" area to increase and benefit navigation. It was noted <br /> i, that the "hump"is a lame area of mud luted at the channel entrance <br /> l across from the recreational portion of Prates Cove. <br /> Ir. Alis suggested to dredge from the "hump" area to the lower river edge <br /> of the former Stenberg property.
