Popponesset ay Area—MT. Silver <br /> Mr. Silver stated he was water testing a week ago. He stated everything looked very <br /> good in Popponesset Bay. He mentioned there was a lot of wildlife he is beginning to see <br /> around Ockway Bay, Everything seems secure and sound according to Mr. Silver. <br /> Mashpee Watershed Committee <br /> Mr. Silver stated that they didn't have a meeting because they didn't have a quorum. <br /> He said there were only two people, including him that reported to the meeting. Mr. Don <br /> Megalthlin showed diagrams and reported on the plans for the project at Dick and Ellie's <br /> fleamarket. Mr. Silver intends to have a conversation with Curtis Frye about lack of <br /> attendance to see if they can solve theproblem. <br /> New Seabury Replenishment Project <br /> Mr. Silver reported that he has made several calls and has not been able to get anyone <br /> to answer him. He has called both business and home and left messages but has not <br /> received any response. Mr, Hanks stated he would give Mr. Silver the phone number of <br /> Bob Hamilton at Aubrey Consulting, <br /> Wa uoit Ba Area Mr. Hanks <br /> Mr. Hanks stated that Fred Fordham reported seeing two duck hunters on the sandbar <br /> in front of his house. Mr. Hanks said other than shellfish people,there is not much going <br /> on in Waquoit Bay. <br /> County_ Dredge Advisory„Committee--Mr. Taylor <br /> Mr. Taylor reported there has not been a meeting. <br /> 4. Waterways Im rovement Plan and Dred in Permits—Mr. Hanks <br /> Mr. Hanks stated there has been very little progress, He mentioned that he spoke <br /> with the Assistant Conservation Agent who expressed an interest in doing something <br /> with the dredge material, in particular building a marsh island. <br /> Mr. Hanks mentioned one more thing that should be done is to get some mud samples <br /> and mix them up. He would like to do some crude measurements about grain size and <br /> settling rates. Mr. Hanks pointed out that we would need to take samples from the same <br /> depth as we are going to dredge, which would be three or four feet. We will need to get <br /> experts to do the final core sampling, <br /> 5. Federal No dischar e Area Designanon—Mr. Hanks <br /> Mr.Hanks made a motion that we no longer consider this item because the State <br /> is working on a statewide no discharge area designation. Mr. Silver seconded the <br /> motion and it was approved unanimously, <br /> 3 <br />
