basis. The Hondas are great. Mr. Ellis also reported that he is investigating the possibility of having jet skis banned from Santult, John's and Ashur et Ponds. He is concerned about reckless operation and violations, and considering such restriction because the ponds are under 500 acres. He is working with the state to find out the legal aspect of imposing this ban. He will work with the selectmen to rewrite the bylaws. This will also require a town rote. Mr. Ellis presented the committee members with copies of the new ticket and described the correct procedure. The police are currently working 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Shellfish Report: Mr. York reported that he has been extremely busy and would appreciate an input on a strategy for splitting up the 2 1/2 current positions that he has available. He is going to town meeting to request another full timep osition. ,Another possibility is to increase the current 4-hour position to'4o hours for the 10 weeks of the summer. He also reported that is has been a very good year for the natural productivity for softshell clams and quahogs. Where there were not many before, now there have been plenty. Y COMMITTEE REPORTS Fresh Water: Mr. Taylor arrived at the meeting late due to an earlier commitment. He reported that there has been no Mash pee- akeby Lake Management Committee meeting. Roponesset Bad: Mr. Silver reported that everything has been normal and there are many boats present. The bar seems to be calm, He also reported that he has been unable to start the Harbormaster boat that is at his dock. The next water testing date is scheduled for August 10th. r. Ellis reported that the USGS was going to take the Harbormaster boat on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday to redo the SONAR surrey of the Popponesset bay area but is unable to do it. Mr. John Ramsey of Applied coastal Research and Engineering gave a presentation on Water Quality Analysis, with emphasis on numerical modeling.
