Mr. Hanks asked Mr. Ellis if there were any Jet Ski rentals in town. 1W. Ellis <br /> answered that there were. He said there is one place at New Seabury Marina. There is <br /> another person who delivers it to the pond, Mr. Hanks asked if the Town issued him a <br /> permit to do that. 11r. Ellis answered that he could get it from the State. <br /> Mr. Gillis asked Mr, Ellis what he thought of the idea where those that had Jet skis <br /> on the pond would get a resident sticker and those that have a jet ski that would be using <br /> it for one day or a weekend could buy a one-day permit. He gent on to say that if he saw <br /> a violation, the one-day permits would be revolved immediately. The resident would get a <br /> warning for the first time and for the second, they are off the pond. Mr. Ellis stated that <br /> e did not have the authority to do that. <br /> Mr. Gillis stated there are sources of funding. The key is knowing where to find <br /> them and having the time to look for them.. He went on to say that the Internet is a great <br /> help, Mr. Gillis said that we have the ability to share information between Barnstable and <br /> Mashpee. He again stated that he would be willing to help resolve this problem. <br /> Mr. Hanks asked the Commission if we should male jet skis an item on the <br /> Agenda and work the problem or leave it the way it stands. Mr. Hanks went on to say <br /> that he was willing to open it up. The Commission agreed. <br /> Mr. Ed Baler's comment: <br /> Mr. Ed Baker asked whether or not there was any response from the Conservation <br /> Commission. Mr. Hanks said there was no response, and that there is an agenda item later <br /> on this topic. <br /> REVIEW AND ACCEPTANCE of MINUTES: <br /> MOTION was made and seconded to approve the Minutes of April 6, 1999 and <br /> was voted unanimously, <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. HarbormasterRep rt <br /> Mr. Alis stated they are going to put the rest of the gear in Popponesset Bay <br /> tomorrow. He went on to say that two boats Fere in. They found out what was gong <br /> with the 75-horse power Honda.. It was the thermostat. That has been corrected. He said <br /> they are getting ready for the season. The mooring application deadline ran out on Friday. <br /> . Shellfish Constable Report—No report. <br />
