Committee Reports <br /> Fresh Water - William Taylor <br /> Bill reported that there was a meeting of the <br /> Mashpee-Wakeby Lake Management Committee. During <br /> this meeting the ongoing subject of the <br /> newsletter, which is to be compiled, was discussed <br /> again. There will be no committee meeting held in <br /> the month of December. <br /> Fopponesset Bay - Herb Silver <br /> Commission members were asked if anyone had any <br /> observations to report about Popponesset Bay in <br /> Mr. Silver' s absence. Jerry Daly commented that <br /> all appeared very quiet on the bay. John <br /> Swartzbaugh added that there was a little bit of <br /> ice forming on the bay. <br /> Waquoit Bay - Jim Hanks <br /> Jim reported that Waquoit Bay was also quite calm <br /> as of late. There are still a few shell fishermen <br /> present . There are a few boats still present in <br /> the water, including his own. The research vessel <br /> is still in New Seabury Marina. <br /> County Dredge Advisory Committee - "William Taylor <br /> Bill informs us that there was no meeting held <br /> during the last month. The next scheduled meeting <br /> will be held on January 7, 2001 . <br /> Waterways By-laws and Regulations - ,Tim Hanks <br /> Jim Hanks reports that there is nothing new to <br /> comment about at this time. <br /> 4 . Waterways Improvement Plan and Dredging Permits - <br /> Jim Hanks . <br /> Jim turned the floor over to Paul Lumsden for <br /> comment . Paul credits Ed Baker with helping us to <br /> establish that there was, in 1970, dredging <br /> permits obtained for parts of Mashpee Raver and <br /> one on Popponesset Bay. This information may be <br /> helpful to the Woods Hole Group who is presently <br /> working on obtaining Dredging Permits to dredge <br /> the Mashpee River. <br />
