18 September 1997 <br /> Page 11. <br /> VOTE: Motion made and seconded to close pending receipt of final revisions <br /> by the Agent and issue an Order for five years with a mandated <br /> extension for another five years. Unanimous vote. <br /> CLOSED PENDING, <br /> :00 CSG S. LYNCH to reconstruct an existing revetment at 70 <br /> opponesset Island Road, Jeremy Carter introduced the representative from <br /> Atlantic Design and Army B all of L E C, the consultant. <br /> Ms. Ball advised they are proposing to reconstruct a deteriorating revetment. <br /> As it stands, it is not functioning and providing adequate flood control for the <br /> property and resource area. In reconstructing the coastal bank, they will be <br /> enhancing flood control and protecting the interests of the Act. At an on-site <br /> Mr. Sherman Ornade suggestions and new plans were provided with these <br /> changes. <br /> Mr. Sherman asked for a summary of changes. Ms Ball. advised they gave <br /> details showing the tie-in with the sloped face of the waU on the west. On the <br /> east, two feet from the property line will allow for revegetation. They are <br /> adding vegetation to the top of the bank. In addition, they would hke to have <br /> the Commission entertain enhancement of the dune. <br /> Mr. Desrosiers. asked what will be clone with the existing wall to be removed' <br /> They may use some of the stones. He asked how they will pick up the larger <br /> stone? There will be work on the beach requmring a small backhoe. The salt <br /> marsh will be protected by a siltation fence. <br /> Mr. Sherman advised Rebecca Haney will be available next week on Tuesday <br /> and he will try to coordinate an on-site to get her input. He was concerned <br /> about protecting the salt marsh. He asked what would be the access route? <br /> Mr. Lynch stated they will work out easements with the two parties. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated even though this property is eligible for a wall, he does <br /> not think the existing structure is not functioning, it is % stable, i <br /> withstood Hurricane Bob. Nir. Sherman stated the Commission will take <br /> CZ 's input, perhaps there are some things not yet thought of. <br /> Public comments: none. <br />
