i
December 1997
Page 4.
Mr. Rosenberg stated if approved tonight and the Board of Appeals requires
any change, our activity tonight is senseless. Mr. Sherman stated there are
other issues.
Mrs. Terrio stated as far as differentiating between the top of the bank to
there, they do not show the difference between the state and Chapter 172.
She asked that it be labeled. She asked what the naturally vegetated buffer
would be and is it just grass there right now? The Commission likes to try to
keep a minimum of 50 foot naturally vegetated buffer strip for all the reasons
cited.
Mr. Slavinsl y asked what he should do on a lot lie this.
Mr. Sherman stated it is getting into the 50 foot. Past precedent has been,
depending upon what we are getting into bene, sometimes it lis natural and
sometimes it is not, here it is basically lawn.. If getting into that area, the
Comnssion loops for something in return, some mitigative package. The
wort limit gets into some natural vegetation on the northeast corner. He
asled.Mrs. Terrio if she had other issues?
Mrs. Terrio stated just what was discussed, the verifying of the bedrooms and
mentioning 112.
Mr. Sherman asked Mr. Slavinsky if there is any V=zone on the property it is
net shown. Mr. Slavinsky stated it is somewhere up the embankment and
somewhere it is .in the water. Mr. Sherman stated he will need to extrapolate
it from the flood naps and show where it appears to come. There is one other
issue which he discovered when he was there today, there has been some
illegal work done on the coastal bank with quite a hit of slash thrown down on
the bank and cutting. This will have to be addressed. The bank itself needs
improvement. If the Commission ssi.on is going to entertain this, there could be
mitigative plantings but already damaged areas will have to be improved, the
bank itself. There could be a site meeting to tam about this further.
Mr. Desrosiers asked for a landscaping plan. Mr. Sherman would recommend
this.
Mr. Rosenberg stated there is an existing drainage flow and asked if an rtbing
is proposed to contain that? Mr. Slavinsky stated the lot naturally drains in
that direction; they are not changing topography to alter that. Mr. Rosenberg
asked if they are changaing the amount of paved driveway? They are slightly.
The plan does not show ghat is emoting driveway and what is new.
