This will be heard by Board of Appeals on the 23rd of August. <br /> Public comment: Richard Brady, an abutter, as how the low is zoned? Mr, <br /> Smith advised it is residential. Mr. Brady asked why it is only assessed at <br /> $800? Mr. Sherman stated that did not have anything to do with the filing. <br /> Jim Hanks stated it is a very low-lying area. It gets inundated by less than <br /> 100 year storm events. From what he has seen, there are no details on what <br /> the garage will be used for.. Sherman stated they will have to meet the minimum 50' setback <br /> requirement from the wetland edge. <br /> Judie Brady asked if there were any environmental impact studies done? <br /> Mr. Sherman stated before any final decision is made, he will have his <br /> Assistant who has this expertise look at it. <br /> i <br /> Julie Brady asked if the Commission did not check for endangered <br /> vegetation? Mr. Sherman stated he does look for that. This is not in a <br />� mapped rare species area. <br /> Albert Lawton asked what is the reason for building a garage? Mr. Smith <br /> stated for storage of two boats and the basics. Mr. Lawton stated there would <br /> be fuel stored there. He asked why he would want a garage of that size at <br /> such a distance from where he lives? Mx. Smith stated he would and asked <br /> what is the objection? Mr. Lawton stated if it is a garage there would be fuel-, <br /> it would have an effect on the environment. <br /> Mr. Rosenberg stated all of the issues brought up so far are related to the <br /> decision that has to be made at Board of Appeals, not here. It would come up <br /> very importantly as to whether the Board of Appeals would grant a variance <br /> from zoning laws. <br /> An abutter asked if this land is in the flood plain. It was stated it is and he <br /> then related a story about how a storm affected the area. <br />
