{
3 August 2000
Page 2.
an issue of wetland B having potential vernal pool characteristics, can be
shifted further towards Isolated wetland A.
IVH Sherman stated he would like the terminology "not a vernal pool"
changed with a revised plan because it is unsure whether it may or may not
be, it has not been established. Mr. Gray agreed. He reviewed the plan
details. There are two isolated wetlands.
Mr. wirsen asked if there was mitigation for driveway relief? Mr. Gray
asked if he was asking post construction or during construction? Mr. wi. sen
stated both, Mr. Gray advised it is a gravel driveway and there are contour
changes and it is not anticipated that post-construction erosion will occur.
Mr. Gray asked what needs to be staked? Mr. Sherman stated the work limit
is a curve so stakes are needed every 20' to show the shape and it would be
enough to do the to nearest corners of the patio on that side. He suggested
the leach pit be staled and on the side facing southeast, -the two garage
corners staked. There should be work limit stakes along the driveway.
It was noted final plans must be filed at least five days before the hearing for
public viewing.
The Chair called for public comments:
Gertrude Boyd stated she lues on the corner of Uncle Edwards and Alma and
had been informed year after year that this was wetland and nothing could
ever be built on it.
Mr. Sherman stated whoever told her that was not defining wetlands
according to the State Act.
The Chair stated the Commission cannot Ileal with what she or anyone else
was told. There are state and Town Regulations that provide standards for
judging wetlands. Under those standards, that area being talked about is not
defined as a wetland.
Names Corbett of 4 Alma load stated that is wetland. It is a habitat for
mosquitoes. A tree was cut on his property and he received a letter that he
was within 100 foot of a wetland. Mr. Sherman stated not the whole road.
He stated no law sags you cannot build, only that you must get a permit.
