14 December 2000
Page 2.
Mr. Rosenberg stated the deck will be out 31'. Mr. Pesee stated it would
beelevated, off the second floor.
Ms Moore asked if this-is the deck that is already there? Mr. Sherman
stated no, the deck is 12' wide. 'Vere is a partial deck that is framed.
Mr. Rosenberg asked if this is existing grass? Mr. Pence stated no, it will
be provided. Woodland sod was called from by planting from iff r nt
locations. It would be a different sod species there.
Mr. Sherman stated originally the idea was to take the sod from the
house footprint and use it but that cannot be done noir. He asked where
they are going to get this sod? lir. Pesee stated he put it there for the
purpose of discussion. He does not have a source. Dative grasses would
be agreeable to him. Mr. Sherman stated native grass mixes can be
conditioned, Mr. Pesoe stated there was alteration of the vegetation
there providing for the hone so there was alteration of grade so he i
proposing that they restore it in a satisfactory fashion'.
I
Mr. Shea asked if the deck is to be cantilevered? Mr. Fence would like t
have it posted.
Mr. Sherman stated if properly vegetated, he is not concerned about the
slope. F
Mr. Pese stated in the front, the original landscape plan was quite
involved and called for a blueberry sod. Mr. Sherman was not mare of
anywhere to get that.
I
Mr. Rosenberg was concerned that it 1s being sodded in a way that it will
be mowed. Mr. Sherman thought Mr. P see should change the plan and
did not see homer this could be closed- tonight. Mr. Pes e stated the
Commission could tell hires tonight that the rear area will be native grass
cover species. lir. Sherman stated the problem is that this 1s an RDA
and cannot be conditioned so the plan will have to show this. The
Commission could close upon receipt of a plan showing suitable grass
species in front and back; it is easier to go to wild grass and then Borne
back and change it later. Mr. Pesce thought the owner would prefer the
lour maintenance native grass cover species. In the front he would like
something more commonly seen such as Kentucky Bluegrass type, to
match the neighborhood.
