9 . Letter from Cape lub Santuit Pond Flume - Mr. Sherman <br /> reported he and the Harbormaster were notified that the dans was <br /> 1n serious disrepair. Upon inspection they found this to be the <br /> case. The property owner has made a temporary repair with <br /> sandbags, and investigated replacement costs with engineering <br /> firms. <br /> Mr. Sherman acknowledged a job well done and suggested the <br /> Commission forward a letter of appreciation. <br /> MOTION: Elliot Rosenberg made a motion to authorize a <br /> letter of appreciation to Mr. otstetter; which Motion was <br /> seconded by Ralph Shaw and so voted unanimously. <br /> 10 . Update/Save the Bay - Diane Boretos. suggested the <br /> possibility of approving the proposed construction of <br /> condominiums on historic tidelands, Spinnaker Cove, in exchange <br /> for the purchase of a larger bridge by New Seabury for <br /> Popponesset Island to provide large boat access . <br /> 7 : 40 Faith Garcia, 19 Seconset Point, continued from May 24, <br /> 2001. NOI <br /> The Chairman recognized Mr. DiGregorio, Horsley and Whitten, <br /> representing Applicant, who provided revised plans of the project <br /> being proposed. <br /> The area of native plantings has been extended; the addition <br /> has been reduced five feet away from the coastal bank, <br /> resulting in an area of twenty-five 2 feet from the top of the <br /> coastal bank to the proposed addition. There are additional <br /> plantings along the southern portion of the property line. <br /> Twenty one hundred loo square feet of lawn will be removed. <br /> Four hundred fifty o square feet of beach grass will be <br /> planted below the coastal bank. The red cedar tree is to remain. <br /> Mr. DiGregorio stated his feelings that net benefits of the <br /> revised plan outweigh any detriments to approval of the proposed <br /> addition. <br /> Michael Talbot expressed his pleasure with the revised plan <br /> as submitted, stating he is now favorably inclined to approve the <br /> project. He asked what would be planted between the reveetated <br /> area and the coastal embankment. <br /> Nor. DiGregorio replied rasa ruosa and lawn area currently <br /> exist there and would remain as access. <br /> References were being made to neve etation plantings and <br /> procedure. <br /> Mr. Sherman stated his approval of the revisions, noting the <br /> environmental benefits. <br /> - - <br />
