fool parcel has not been included in the application, a separate
application would be required for recording purposes .
Donation of land at Meeting House Road/Voisey dole wetland,
approximately twenty-acres have been proposed as donation to the
Town, pennanently restricted as open Space under a Restriction
held by the Town (Tribal Council) .
There would be a Conservation Restriction following the
southern coastline of Shoestring Bay, approximately loo-feet
wide, and approximately nine acres of land.
r ant ' s Cove stewardship Program - This proposal would
provide monitoring and education through the Mashpee High School
system. Assist a high school teacher to bring a small group of
students to the site twice a year to conduct ori-going monitoring
and education in this salt marsh area. The Cape Cod Commission
Coastal Coordinator has offered input into this program. There
is also a letter of support from a Willowbend Foundation to fund
the initial $ towards (field) supplies.
r. Sherman suggested Applicant ' s counsel submit the
Conservation Restriction for review by Town Counsel.
Upon closing, Mr. Horsley mentioned that man r ,of the areas
being proposed for alteration within buffer zones are already
altered; and that many of the areas are currently permitted for
work under the existing order~ of Conditions.
r. Horsley' s resentat ,on concluded at 7: 30 p.m. at which
point he deferred to Amy Ball :
Details-Proposed Project - Northers., Central, and Southern
Parcels. All resource areas located on the property have been
confirmed through RDA; riverfront areas through ANAD.
She made reference to two areas, Quashnet l iverfront area
within the northern portion; and one tributary to Quaker Run
within the southern parcel . The beginning of riverfront area
differs between the Torn By-law and State Act. She chose to
speak to the Town By-law as it is more stringent .
References were made to riv rfront area taken from the
bordering vegetated wetland; and to the rover at Quaker Run,
perennial flow through the abandoned cranberry bog within the
southern parcel. Riverfront area runs through managed golf
course turf or commercial cranberry bogs.
Mr. Horsley interjected the Augat Plume discharges very
close to this location, it is a substantial flow, resulting in a
hydrological effect on the river. In theory, when+ the discharge
stops the flow in the upper~ end will reduce encouraging the
perennial stream seaward further downstream.
-4-
