Y
•
s. Ball made references to proposed work within the
rive front area. The Ilan-made pond will be filled this is not
a pond under the state Act, is considered to be a fresh water
wetland under the TownBy-law) . Alterations are proposed to be
rade at the buffer zone areas. some of the pitch pines located
within the cranberry bog area are to be removed.. er oval of
invasive (upland) species in a bog that has reverted back to a
natural freshwater wetlands. The basal area is being considered
for removal of vegetation, approximately thirty-six square feet
of woody vegetation. Such removal will encourage growth of those
species that cannot tolerate the shade produced by the upland
species .
References were being made to mitigation at the site of a
replicated pond within the norther parcel that will provide
additional fresh water wetlands, emergent marsh habitat, and will
provide an open water component . Replication follows the Town
By-law (invasive species will not be transferred to the new
pond) . Any wildlife currently habituating within the pond will
be transferred. The replicated area would be constructed first,
the side slopes would be stabilized, and thea transferral of
fauna into the new pond.
Further mitigation is proposed for the Vernal Pool area
located on Town land. o V use is to be discouraged while
providing access for utility work. Mallards are being considered
along a small footprint within the existing roadway, which would
allow for the transfer of flow within the vernal pool .
The proposal includes reetation in parts of the northern
area to enhance the vegetation from the buffer zone to the
resource areas .
i
Ms. Ball indicated those areas which have been previously
altered/and are currently altered. References were made to the
pond area, roadways, debris, eistinq single-family home/ awn
which is to be removed.
The current connerciall r worked section of the cranberry bo
will be allowed to revert back to a natural cranberry bob, as
noted on the Mitigation Plan.
Central Parcel~ - Reconfiguration of the existing 16th Tee,
i
located at Quinequisset Averse (tunnel) , is being
landscaped/maintained, and lies within the buffer onerierfront
area.
Open Channel Configuration - The majority ority of which occurs
outside of the buffer zone. The open strew channel running from
one bog to the other, which had been illegally culverted by a
predecessor, will be restored.
With reference to the southern parcel, five new fairways
- -
