• The Town took over the road and the drainage was totally inadequate. Bob authorized
an emergency certificate and the gas company is going to fill a chasm today. Mr.
Rhodes has done all he could reasonably do to fight the erosion problems, including
spending a great deal of extra money. He is considering something Bob suggested
which Joyce Mason thought was a good idea -- i.e., giving the parcel to the Town once
he has finished the revegetation, because being next to the Mashpee River, we have
the ability to control the situation. Bob recommends that we authorize under Chapter
48C another $150 to help him out because the gas company is going to fill in the
chasm but won't be vegetating it.
Mr. Rhodes is not prepared to do the revegetation all at once because he's had such
high expenses recently on this problem, and Bob has given him the authorization to
stabilize the lower areas with wild flower mixes which we approved and delay some of
the shrub planting until the Fall. If he gives us the land, we would have a covenant
from the property transfer that it's his responsibility to finish the original plan. After that,
it's our responsibility to maintain it.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the emergency
certification order and a donation of$150 towards the revegetation of the eroded slope
on the property.
1. New Business: None
Hearinq Agenda
7:00 p.m., Phyllis Happel, 76 Wheeler Road (continued from 5/8/03). Bob reported
that Mrs. Happel has requested a withdrawal of this RDA.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to accept the withdrawal of this RDA
pending receipt of a letter from the applicant confirming her request.
7:05 p.m., Milton Glass, 30 Fells Pond Road (continued from 5/8/03). Bob said the
applicant's attorney called him yesterday and they wish to continue because they are
still trying to put together a survey for the landscaping.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to grant a continuance to June 19th
at 7:20 p.m. at the request of the applicant.
7:10 p.m., Susan Lemish, 42 Great River Road (landscaping). Bob recommended
approval.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the plan.
i
