10. Mr. Werrickr 10 Wheelhouse, Bob said Mr. Werrick has requested a meeting with
him to approve some vista pruning. since he has been issued an Enforcement Order
for illegal vista pruning, Bob feels that we should not allow any further crista pruning
until the acorns are producing again and thereby producing food for wildlife} which will
be in about five years. All agreed.
11. 14 Little Neck Drive --filing for dock extension. Bob said they wanted to have
some sense as to whether the Commission would approve this extension before they
spend the money on a formal application. There is a legal dock there now which has a
Chapter 91 license. They want to go out further to get some more water because the
.. rater table is now so low. Bob thinks this is a good idea, but we shouldn't allow hien
any bigger boat. The extension would have to conform to our standards. All approved.
12. Approval of minutes for 5/8/03, 5/22/03 and 6/5/03.
Motion made, seconded and unanimously carried to approve the above minutes.
13. Dock at the boat rail on I1ashpe Neck Road. Stephanie said the dock is sitting on
the floor of Poponesset Bay. The boards on the dock are 3 " apart, the railing isn't at
a useful height, and the floats are too big and don't meet our standards.
Bob said he thinks we approved the bigger floats because it's a public dock. The
Building Inspector has been notified that the railings are not in conformance with the
building code. The spacing of the boards isn't an issue because it's over sand, not
over a salt marsh.
However, there is another problem in that when it was under construction, people
started walking on a different portion of the bank, wearing it away. Bob talked to Russ
Wheeler, Perry Ellis was out there, and Joyce has concern about the liability of people
falling down the bank. All the solutions they discussed involve alterations which would
either be expensive or not meet the building code. What they may do to the access
area which is now going down the bank is apply for an emergency certificate to put in a
short section of fence to push the traffic to another area which hes been in existence
forever.
14. 111 illobend revegetation. Stephanie said this was discussed on a number of
occasions and they were to replace the annual plants with perennial plants. Instead,
they have a beautiful display of annuals from one end to the net. Bob said he wasn't
aware of that issue, but he is meeting with them sometime in August to review them
progress_ He asked Stephanie to come in and together they'll check if the order of
Conditions coven this.
15. seconsett Island Causeway -- algae disposal problem, Bob said a considerable
amount of algae washed up onto their beach. Several people called Pauline to ask if
they can remove.it: and she said not without a permit, but some people did it anyway
