and put it on the Seconsett Island Causeway in the areas where people park on the
edge of the road_ The Assistant Director of DPW called Bob this geek to ask if they
can do this or put It back on the beach. Bob said don't do anything until he talks with
the members of the commission and to Glen Harrington to see if there is a way to
dispose of it. Instead, they put it back on the beach. Bob thinks Greg Taylor should
get a letter or reprimand and an enforcement order. He said it's not the first time that
he has thumbed his nose at this Commission.
Elliot's suggestion is that we write a letter to the Selectmen, with a copy to Greg Taylor,
saying it has come to our attention that the Director of Public Works hes put material on
the beach after he was advised not to, and we request that the Selectmen take such
action as is appropriate. otherwise we will be required by law to issue an enforcement
order.
Len asked what action we expect the Selectmen to take. Bob said a formal reprimand.
Mack expressed concern about creating a difficult environment for Bob in working with
another Town department if we present a threatening letter at the meeting. Bob said if
we dont do anything: Mr. Taylor is going to continue to do as he wishes -- he needs a
clear message.
Len suggested that Bob set up a meeting with the Town Administrator, Mr. Taylor and
Chuck Green before we send the letter. Jack and Elliot agreed to attend_ Elliot
recommended we have the letter in hand at a meeting with Joyce stating what we have
to do if the Selectmen don't solve this problem. Michael said the letter will show that
we are really serious, but vire will first give the Town Administrator and the Selectmen
the opportunity to take care of it through their channels.
Bob suggested we say that if we have a repetition of this conduct, we will request a
formal hearing with the Board of Selectmen to discuss the performance of the Director
of the DPW and his lack of cooperation, and the public will know. All agreed.
New Business:
. APNAC Committee. Bob reported that net Tuesday night he will attend a meeting to
give us an update on the treatment plant, how it works, how it didn't work, and the
status of Aschumet Pond. Bob said it worked but not exactly as they thought it would.
Hearing Agenda
7:00 p.m., John Reiland, 44 Barbary Circle (replace two iron pipes with pilings). Bob
said this is an omission of the first application which we approved. It has no additional
impact, and he recommended approval.
