MINUTES March 27, 1989 2 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> informed the Board all proposed lots meet the 150' distance between <br /> septic and well with exception of one lot. <br /> Mr. Dreelish motioned to approve revised plans as presented with the <br /> stipulation the developer secure a variance from the Mastepee regula- <br /> tions <br /> egula- <br /> tions requiring 150 feet from well to septic for lot 13 Kati an Way <br /> in the subdivision Known as Pimlico Heights and this Board forward <br /> comments to the Planning Board, fir. Wilson seconded, all agreed* <br /> 6a ) Proposed Board of Health Regulation" Pesticide/Herbicide Spraying - <br /> r. McQuaid submitted to the Board a revised regulation for the Pesti- <br /> cide/Herbicide <br /> esti- <br /> ie/Herbicide spraying.. f <br /> Mr. Costa requested a few corrections to the proposed regulation and <br /> stated a public -hearing will be held April 10, 1989 with intentions <br /> - to adopt tbi s .regu l ation on sa'i d date; the Board was in a reeanoe. <br /> 7. ) H i g hwood Water adoption of D.E# .E. policy on water treatment devices - <br /> The Board acknowledged ree i i ng this information: <br /> 1 S <br /> . Letter from Weston & Sa sen re: Procedures for construction bidding <br /> process - The Board acknowledged retei ing this information <br /> . Copy of town articles re: Transfer Station/landfill operation for <br /> discussion, if necessary) - Mr. Costa stated he would like this ratter <br /> continued until later in the meeting. <br /> 10. Recent memos e: Landfill sticker sales - Mr. Costa stated all stickers <br /> have been accounted for and will remain in this Boards possession unt i i <br /> it .hays been ascertained which department will issue the stickers. <br /> APPOINTMENT: A. Roberti , Down Cape Engineering) - Variance request 282 � <br /> Cranberry Avenue (second hearing) <br /> Engineer Al Roberti , abutters Charles & Margaret Ki lty, Bill Marterios <br /> and Samuel Singer were in attendance for this variance request. <br /> Mr. Roberti presented revised plans to the Board and stated he has loca- <br /> ted the two abutting wells. He stated the proposed leaching pit will be 104' <br /> from the Singer' s well , and 102' from the opposite abutters well and explained <br /> that the reserve area falls less thea 100' from- one of the abutting wells. <br /> U <br /> Abutters voiced their concern as to the location of the septic system and <br /> questioned the non-conformity in placement of the well and septic ,to surrounding <br /> lots. <br /> r.- i u i d sta . d.h i:s concern is the installation of a break-out wall and <br /> stated because of the grade and slope of the lot, break- out could not be met <br /> without installing a break-out wall . He e- plained in order to safely install <br /> a functioning septic system it must be lowered to a point where installation <br /> of a break-out wall would not be necessary. <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated in regards to remaining variances , -the reserve area {, <br /> to the existing well at 90 feet would be adequate, because if the 'primary <br /> leaching pit were to fail the - stone could be excavated cleaned out and a <br /> second pit installed i n place and retain a 1021 separation. <br /> d <br /> J <br />
