Mr. nn 1 l stated his efforts to receive health screening through the N.N. ., have been fruitless and the Center' for Individual and Family Counseling Services have not cooperated- with._our,',.-requests ,-arid commented the only services they provide are in _-the lower C ape. Mr. Connell explained they are in the process of survey i ng all the seniors i-n Mshpee, to date there have been about 10returns. Mr. Connell commented one of -the principal needs expressed in the responses to the questions have been health screenings, trans- portation rans- p tation and,recreation. F !�1 T MS. Waterman 1 nfor m d the Board that i n speaking with one. of the staff members from the Ctr. for Ind. and Fam. Services, she was told that their focus is the lower Cape due to the under staffing. Ms. Waterman stated they were told they service the Upper Cape however all referrals submitted were not followed up. Mr. Connell suggested a meeting with the various agencies prior to fiscal year funding. Mr. Costa informed Mr. Connell ,the town is in -the' process of hiring a director of human services , once appointed monies will be transferred over to that department. Mr. Connell responded , he is aware of .the development of Ahis department. however f i'h a 1 stages have not been completed. Mr. Connell explained that the V.N.A. has not cooperated with screenings. Mr. Connell requested a meeting with each agency to discuss elderly.,services. Mr. Costa suggested Mr. Conne'l 1 and Ms. Waterman prepare their requests for services to the elderly i.n,.wr iting at which tine .a meeting will be sche- duled h - duled for each agency. Mr. McQuaid explained that the Board of Health funds these agencies, therefore if referrals were placed. through this office follow-up pro edurs may be more successful . APPOINTMENT: Ernie Virgilio - Illegal dumping & Waste Oil Collection Mr. Virgilio was in attendance f r this scheduled appointment. Mr. Costa questioned Mr. Virgilio as to whether the signs have been posted on Red Brook Road. Mr. Virgilio responded that the signs will be Posted Tuesday, pending the Police Department's approval of the p l a rhent of the signs. Mr. Virgilio, informed the Board the steel pile has been eliminated. Mr. Virgilio stated thei-r department hays -begun. tr .sh.�piek--up on town owned roads Mr, Costa recommended Mr. Virgilio contact surrounding town D.P.W. Super- intendents to discuss metal , tiro, etc. pick-up. Mr. Virgilio responded, he meets once monthly to discuss 'Various pro-. . r. cedures for tire, metal , glass etc. pick-up.
