MINUTES UTES August 3, 1989 2 BOARD of HEALTH Mr. Gree i i h requested Mr. McQuaid to advise Dr. Soliz to secure a seasonal contract with a commercial hauler and commented the amount f refuse ,justifies this Boards decision. Board members were in agreeance. Mr. Gree1ish motioned to deny the request by the Plaza Del Sol for a Commercial permit, Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed. APPOINTMENT : cape & Islands - John Slavinski - Variance request, iot 2 Shore Drive (Kouloris) Mrri- John Slavinsky, Mr. & Mrs. Koulouris, abutters Paul Bettencourt and William Wade were in attendance for- the scheduled appointment. Mr. Slavinsky stated Vari woes +requested -are to upgrade the existing system. to accomodate an addition. Mr. Slavinsky s.tated he cannot conform to a' 25 foot strip as it-.::wduld encroach onto abutting property, ( lot 8) . Mr, Slavinsky commented ground water was encountered less then 4 feet i and explained that in consulting with BiE. .E., about this problem-, they did respond that, under these circumstances, variances are usually obtained. Mr. Slavirns. y stated they propose to fill in -the back yard, build the addi- tion ddi- ti n an&-const r5uct a retaining wa l i along the rear of the property line and install a new septic system.. r. S l av i n s ky. Mated there is a well on lot 1 which would effect the- placement of the s, sten, ho ever there is no aiternative location in which to place the system. Cir. Slavinsky stated the existing system- consists of a metal esspool which rust be sitting in ground water and commented h.e{,.drug -two `to ho i e , a tine si=t-e., wh i ch ' r. McQuaid witnessed, -th i r-teen feet of peat was found on one side, the other contained good mat- erial . Mr. costa questioned the footage. of 'the proposed addition. Mr. Slavinsky responded the addition will be 4' by 20` . Mr. Gree l i s h commented he .would recommend waiting to construct the addition until the owner. of lot 1 hooks into High Wood Water. Mr. Slavinsky stated the reserve and primary would be installed at the sanne 'time and commented he would like to consult with B.E. .E.for their opi- nion.
