Dr, DeMoura informed_ the Board Mr. Feldman has prepared a letter which will- be distributed to e'�c h "student to ltle hone to l thei . � am i i i e s opening day, this letter notifies the parents •of .the situation 'as -,it. existsh. Dr. Doura stated a press release ha-s been prepared and sent to the local press. on a daily basis, as long as this situation continues, the Principal will announce, as a reminder, to all staff and students of the procedures to follow. Dr. Deoura stated the school department will work closely with the Board of Health, the contractor and BCHED to resolve this issue 'and reiterated his earlier comments stating their primary focus is to protect the safety and health of the children. Dr. DeMoura. suggested a meeting be scheduled when the second round of results are received. Mr. Hall commented the plan reflects alot of thought and approves of the plan -Dr. DeMoura has presented however voited his concern over the hand- washing. He- suggested bottled water, distilled water. or a handi-wipe as a final rinse and commented he Mould research this with D.F.P. for comment. Dr. De dura questioned Mr. Hall as to whether this would be a supplement to washing. Mr. Hall resonded., as a supplement. Mr. Costa suggested turning off the faucets in the restrooms completely and using Nandi-wipes only. Mr. Evans stated he did not agree with the suggestion as this would de- feat the purpose of teaching the' children good sanitation and did not feel the hardi-wipe would be necessary as the ch•iidren would not be drinking the water. Mr. Hall stated he is concerned with a slight residual that may remain on the children ' s hands and would reassure the parents that all possible steps are being taken. Mr Hall also commented in the interim -this would allow for some research with more knowledgeable people* Mr. costa relayed if the readings were not so high ,he would agree with Nor. Evans however due to the high level he- would prefer to take every pre- caution as suggested by Mr, Hall . Mr. Greeff i sh and Mr. O'Brien were in agreeance. 1r. costa stated one of his main concerns was the supervision of -the restrooms.
