. .s , MINUTES September 21 , 1989 6 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> High good Dater., "Mr. McQuaid stated in speaking with.-David Rich, who attended <br /> the ectren imeet n <br /> it was decided that more information from the Ma s tepee <br /> Water District would be required, subsequent to the conversation with Mr, <br /> Rich-, Mr. Virgilio,i who had not attended the meeting, relayed that the permit <br /> had been issued for High Wood later hook-up. ' [fir. McQuaid explained that upon <br /> informing [fir. Virgilio of the Selectmen's decision he did state-. he would re- <br /> scind the permit. <br /> r <br /> Mr <br /> Costa stated th Board i'1I# adhere to its p for decision regarding <br /> the "Donut Box" , upon expiration of the So day order the Board may consider <br /> a request from the owner to operate the business dS orginally requested, <br /> (Coffee and Donuts only) . <br /> Water issue - Kenneth C. coombs School <br /> Mr. McQuaid stated he spoke with Mr. Michael Scipione, who has reviewed <br /> and tabulated water results and has found a steady decline in the lead water <br /> content. Mr. McQuaid stated Mr. Scipione is researching hove the electricity <br /> is being grounded and commented he did receive a call from Mr. Scipione who <br /> has discovered that the electric current is grounded to the in-line water <br /> supply pipes as the telephone lines and will review electric diagrams to <br /> ensure they are according - o specs. If diagrams are found` to be in compliance <br /> Mr. Scipione- wd 1.1 recommend they be chanced, if they are Bund to be in error <br /> he will inform the electrical contractor that the grounding be grounded as <br /> per specs. Glass fixtures will be sampled, specs on the fixtures will be <br /> researched to ensure compliance and the corros i i t,y of High Wood Water will <br /> also be checked. other factors such as alkalinity, can effect the corrosi lty <br /> of the eater which could lead to i nc rea s-ed permeation of the lead in the' <br /> brass futures. Mr. McQuaid reported that Mr. Scipione will recommend a <br /> f l ush i n .p.ro ram since the last four rounds of test results shoe the lead <br /> content to be less than 20 ppb after a two minute flush. Mr. McQuaid stated <br /> a report from Weston 'Sampson will be ready by the first of the week. <br /> Mr. McQuaid explained - o the Bard the ,hydrant is not a source of water <br /> entry into- the school and commented in speaking with George Howland from <br /> D.E.P. he was in agreeance that High blood Water is not the source of lead <br /> in the water. <br /> Mr. costa requested Mr. McQuaid and Mir. Evans-to prepare a press re- <br /> lo'ase which is to state that High Wood Water is not the source of lead, <br /> protocol , as originally stated, is continuing and a report from Weston <br /> Sampson is expected by net week. <br /> Sticker office <br /> Mr. costa stated this Board would be willing to issue stickers until <br /> some time next spring and requested Mr. McQuaid to inform Selectmen Jacobson <br /> of this proposal . <br /> Being no further business Mr. Doherty riot i onod -to adjourn this meeting at <br /> :00 p.m. , Mr. costa seconded. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Veronica Warden, Principal clerk <br />
