r
i
together there were four inoperable wells. There were two that were broken.
Mr. Doherty asked hover the wells got broken. ;
IIT. warden replied that they were vandalism by children.
i
Mr. Santos stated that they were probably the same wells that they had repaired in
the past.
Ms. warden stated that that was probably true.
The BOH members reviewed the document from Woodward & Curran. Mr. Santos
questioned the first paragraph the second to the last sentence vVhich included the
inspection of the transfer station. He believed that that was the DPW's
responsibility.
Ms. 'warden explained that she had Woodward & Curran change the language of
the contract six tunes. She asked the BOH members to read the last sentence on
"C" semi-annual cap inspections. The last sentence states that a separate report of
this inspection will be prepared. They will send us that report with a bill for our
portion and the DPW for their portion.
Mr. Doherty wonders if DPW is going to use thein.
Nis. warden replied that the DPW has already contracted with thein for their
services.
M . Santos continued that to walk around that whole landfill it is going to talo ten
hours on each inspection with two done per year for general maintenance
inspection. It is going to take someone ten hours to walk around that landfill and
look for problems.
Ms. warden then suggested that they have Helen Priola, vice president, to wine in
and discuss the details in person. She has tried many tunes to obtain this contract
from her in a certain format and it just doesn't come in with the appropriate
details. She believed that Mr. Santos was absolutely right. Nis. Viola probably is
throwing in these inspections at the same time they aro doing the transfer station.
Mr. Santos continued that if they are going to do the landfill inspection. He could
understand the ten hours. However, if they are going to do the transfer station
along with the landfill inspection. They would have to inspect everything with a
methane sniffer in order to determine if there was any urethane leaching out into-
the
ntothe structures at the transfer station. That takes a little more time.
Mr. Doherty asked Mr. Santos where he got the ten hours from on the contract.
Mr. Santos referred Mr. Doherty to the general maintenance inspection section of
the contract that recommends 20 hours, which would moan two a year. Mr. Santos
suggested that maybe she changed the language here and didn't change therm on
20
