Mr. Harrington asked Mr. Doyle if they had found that well.
Mr. Doyle replied that it was located within a concrete bunker.
Mr. Doherty stated that he was under the impression that
groundwater flowed in the direction of that well.
Mr. Doyle replied that that was correct. He then showed the
direction on the plans where the Zone 11 was and how it lined up
with the flow of the groundwater.
Mr. Doherty replied that he didn't have a problem with this
request as long as Mr. Harrington was in agreement.
Mr. Harrington replied that the location was fine. It was down
gradient. It just wanted to make Mr. Doherty aware to that
through all of the years that Ms. Augusta had the well sampled
she never came about or even close to the 10 milligrams per liter
on the nitrogen.
Mr. Doyle stated that the highest was 1.3 milligrams per liter
since 1996.
Mr. Doherty stated that this is a down gradient well and it won't
be pumped on a regular basis. You are not going to see any but if
it is directly down gradient you are surely not going to punch
another well in there. It is suitable and workable.
Mr. Doyle has told Ms. Augusta that if it wasn't workable he would
have to punch another one. Ms. Augusta will have a service and
maintenance contract that she could come in and talk to them to
do it less frequently.
Mr. Doherty replied that they would like to leave the quarterly
testing for at least a year. Then Ms. Augusta can come in and see
them. They will have a baseline with which to work with at that
time. However, he was not inclined to say that they would reduce
it because then they would be setting a precedent for everyone to
make the same request. There may be some situations where
they will want it. They don't want have to fight that battle before
they have too.
16
