5. Variance Request: Title V Upgrade, 49 Cayuga Avenue
Mr. Sanicki had submitted a letter dated 04.25.02 requesting that the
following variances be approved: The SAS will be 6' off the street
property lines of Cayuga Avenue and Mohawk Road. The reserve area
will be 3' off the street property line of Cayuga Avenue. The local
variance is that the reserve area will be 87' from the freshwater
wetlands.
Mr. Ball asked Mr. Harrington if he had reviewed this plans.
Mr. Harrington responded that he had reviewed the plans. There was a 4'
variance from the corner of the SAS and the two streets. Along with a 7'
variance from the street property line.
Mr. Doherty asked if the variance for the reserve presented a problem.
Mr. Harrington confirmed that it did present a problem.
Mr. Santos made a motion to deny the request for variances on the 49
Cayuga property. Mr. Ball seconded the motion. Motion to deny passed.
6. Variance Request: Title 5 Upgrade, 72 Forest Road
Mr. Harrington stated that this request did not need to be addressed at
this time because the abutters had not been notified in time.
7. Review of Definitive Subdivision Plan: Bog River Road (2 Lots)
The BOH members took a few minutes to review the engineered plans
for this subdivision. Mr. Santos began by commenting that the plans
referred to a plan to develop a four-foot hood.
Mr. Ball asked if that was like a pool.
Mr. Santos replied that it was basically a shallow elbow. It should be a
deep-footed catch basin, which is four feet deep or within one foot from
the bottom. It states it in the written portion of the plans. But, it doesn't
show it in the plan itself. That is the one thing that caught his eye.
Mr. Harrington continued by stating that there this section was
leachable and wasn't an overflow.
Mr. Santos replied that that was correct. This was a catch basin with
12" ...to the retention area. They need some floater fuses or dry wells in
this area. If this fills it is going to percolate down and have a chance to
go over the grassy area.
Mr. Doherty asked how long the BOH members had to review it.
2
