town to locate it.
Mr. Doherty stated that the information was so noted.
B. Landfill Nitrogen Sampling/Analysis for Town Watershed Study:
Ms. Warden began by stating that the Cape Cod Commission requested
that the BOH do additional sampling on the town watershed survey.
Subsequent to our budget submittal for $1000.00 basically something
that Woodward & Curran would do for the BOH as an additional sampling
at an additional cost. She contacted Woodward & Curran. They gave her
the fees for... of the sampling. The BOH doesn't have any funds left for
the additional sampling. She suggested that they run it by the BOH
members to see if they were interested in agreeing with
this...recommendations...at the cost $918.00 for the additional sampling.
It could come out of the engineering services. It would have to come out
of our laboratory services, which has also been cut. The BOH has just
been cut $1000.00 for laboratory services.
Mr. Santos asked if this had anything to do with the post-closure of the
landfill.
Ms. Warden replied that this is strictly an outside request from the Cape
Cod Commission for the watershed study to complete nitrogen sampling.
Mr. Santos doesn't want to see this come out of the BOH budget. The
watershed has $400,000.00 plus to do a nitrogen study of the Mashpee
River along with a whole town wide study. If they are requesting this
been done. It should be incorporated in the original study. He would
imagine.
Ms. Warden stated that unfortunately it is located inside the landfill,
which is under the direction of the BOH. The engineers...
Mr. Santos interrupted Ms. Warden and asked if all of these wells were
inside the premises.
Ms. Warden replied that that was correct. Woodward & Curran is
currently doing the sampling for the BOH. It is just the original sample.
Someone else would have to be permitted to go in and take the sample
and also have the keys to the well. They are asking the BOH whether or
not they will agree to do the additional sample. The BOH can agree to it
and request that the Watershed Study send the money to fund it. She is
unaware if the Watershed Study has the funds. It is strictly up to the
BOH to agree to the request.
Mr. Doherty asked the other BOH members if they wanted to agree to
5
