Do we want to ... <br /> Mr. Harrington suggested that they go through and determine exactly <br /> wham term and what shape they want the regulation in. <br /> Mr, Ball stated that it might change by going through this whereby they <br /> would all be happy. No? <br /> Mr. Santos felt that they were putting the cart before the horse. He telt <br /> that they needed to vete to determine if they were going to have a <br /> smoking regulation before they could start adopting one. <br /> Ills. Warden and Mr. Ball both advised lir, Santos that they already have a <br /> smoking regulation. els. Warden advised him that they were just making <br /> amendments to the original regulation. <br /> Mr. Ball continued that they were discussing what they were going to <br /> adopt. <br /> Mr. Santos asked if they weren't discussing a "smoking ban", Right? <br /> Mr. Harrington replied that it was still going to be a regulation. They <br /> needed to determine what form it was going to take and how extensive <br /> did they want the ban to be. It was those definitions that needed to be <br /> reviewed, revised and voted upon by each member of the board. The <br /> "bars" is just a word used to eliminate smoking in certain places, But, it is <br /> going to be part of the "regulation." If you want to vote re-visit to change <br /> the regulation, You need to go through the regulation and hammer out <br /> exactly hover you want that to read. They as the department health agents <br /> can change it. Then present it in a final form for review. But, tonight h <br /> assumed that they were going to go through and hammer out ghat parts <br /> of the definitions where going to change and what areas they were going <br /> to cover. <br /> Mr. Ball asked Mr. Harrington if the document in front of therm was what <br /> he had come up with as a beginning format for the regulation* <br /> Mr. Harrington responded that it was Ms. Grady who put this document <br /> together. <br /> Ms. Grady added that it was just her going through all of the different <br /> local town regulations and putting together what she felt was the best of <br /> 1 <br />
