i
I
all of these regulations.
Mr. Santos began by stating that it was kind of ironic that he reviewed
this material while he was in Florida on vacation. The changes that he
wanted to see were very similar to what IVIS. Grady had opted for in her
document. He then asked Mr. Ball how he felt with the document.
Mr, Ball asked him to begin with the first page. He did not have a problem
with the first page. There was a change with the word "therefore' and
"and lounge."
Ms, Grady stated that she crossed out that language and put in 'and
public places."
Mr, Santos asked Ms, Grady and Mr, Ball what they meant b "town
owned buildings and grounds."
Mr. Ball defined this as whatever the grounds that the town owned
buildings were located on.
IVIS. Grady elaborated by stating that this would include the schools and
school grounds, town hall, DPW, etc.
Mr. Santos wanted to be the devil's advocate. For example, if he were a
DPW worker and he would be working out back in the yard. He couldn't
have a cigarette on the DPW grounds.
Mr. Ball stated that that was correct, No smoking on.the grounds,
building or truck.
Ms, Grady stated that it was anything town owned*
Mr. Ball stated that you could be down at the beach because there isn't
structure there and you can have a cigarette. Well they haven't gotten to
that point, But, he wanted to use it for an example.
Mr, Santos felt that that was going to open a can of worms. The
definitions were basically straightforward. He agreed on letter"E" found
under definitions defined as "function room, hall, separate enclosed room
used for private functions within a food service establishment," They are
net going to use a "function hall in which to sponsor a private function
and the owner/proprietor has control over the seating arrangements is
exempt." They don't want that in the language of the regulation.
Mr. Ball asked why.
2
