5
to see the results of a full year.
Mr. Ball stated that this was a special circumstance. Most of the time that
they had granted variances or that they required a denitrification system
it was because of water or a well.
Ms. Grady reiterated that this was not the B H's request.
Ir. Bali stated that this was special because that if you did do something
that it would be only for this neighborhood
IVIS. Grady brought up the point that they would be doing it for every single
house,.-
Mr. Ball stated that they could condition this to say that if that well was
put in all bets are off. They would have to go back to the full year of
testing.
IIIb. Harrington stated that that would be after the tiro-year period
anyway .
Ms, Grady reiterated that Mr. Harrington stated that other homes they did 4
not do this.
Mr. Santos stated that those were seasonal homes.
Ills. Grady understood that this was-not seasonal. But, she still didn't want
to get into the reduction of the testing.
Mr. Ball didn't have a problem reducing it to two because of the location of
the Lorne and the circumstances of the denitrification requirement,, If that
were the case he would also stipulate and motion that the town well is
not operable. Once that town well was operable any further variances
mould not be permitted. That town well could be operable ten years from
now or it could go in next week.
Mr. Harrington added that to show that it is.getting proper performance it
has to- maintain an average of less than 19 milligrams per liter in it's first
year. if it doesn"t do that then they would have to keep monitoring* The
state says that anyways.
Mr. Ball asked if the monitoring was less than 19.
Mr. Harrington responded that it averaged out at 1 BE
Mr. Santos stated that Mr. Miller could appreciate their position in this
1 `Y...f.+l1 Y•1+ik ..
