Ills. Grady stated that on the budget page the other day it was $28,500.00.
Mr. Harrington stated that the $5,000.00 plus the mowing from their
addition was $33,000.00. $33,00.00 was the total amount for the line item
for the landfill maintenance. But, $33,000.00 minus $5,000.00 is
$28,000.00. They had about a $4500.00 increase from their original
$23,000.00 and change bid. We they changed over to them,
Ms. Warden added that the board needed to not forget that they went out
to bid for this mowing and they didn't get any response whatsoever. Then
they decided to buy a machine and do it.
Mr. Santos knew that what happened last time was that it was $2500.00
and the bill was seat in for $2500.00 and then again for another $2500.00.
But, if you ever have you books audited it was $5000.00 not $2500.00.
Ms. Warden stated that is what the proposal says that it is $5000.00.
Mr. Santos would like to see them get some quotes. He caught prices
from Date Weeks from Sterns & Wheeler. They had a list of companies
that manage the landfill post-closure. He would life to get a little bit more
competition that just hand him $5,000.00. He thought it was one of those
steep slopes that weren't mowed. They went to him to ask him why he
hadn't done it. He answered that the wall was too steep and his quote
stated that he didn't do hand work.
Mr. Santos stated that the time he went out there the whole top and the
slopes were all donne life it had been done before. Regarding the landfill
p
thought, the north and western side they are losing a lot of vegetation.
There is definitely some erosion that has taken place.
Mr. Santos asked if the liner was popping up yet.
Mr. Harrington responded that the liner hadn't come through. It has
slumped in a couple of places. Now that slumping is filled in because of
the erosion. The longer they leave it the more it fills in, But, ultimately, in
the next couple of years the may have to look at ire-vegetating it.
Ms. Warden stated that there was nothing left.
i
Mr, Harrington stated that he and Ms. Warden took a walk out there and
there wasn't much left.
Mr. Santos asked if there were rivulets.
1
